Stanley’s Fruit and Vegetables – Cheap veggies

This spot is a place I only recently stumbled upon. However, I wish I had known it existed before. Stanley’s Fruit and Vegetables is now my go to place for fruit and vegetables because it is super inexpensive. Everything there looks farm fresh and they must know a farmer or something because Aldi can’t even beat their prices. Last time I was there I bought a double flat of Raspberries for $ 2. Other places around town can be twice that for half the size. Also, these raspberries were so so good even 4 days after purchasing (in my experience berries like these don’t often keep for more than two days).¬†Other times I’ve had some fruit (still very cheaply purchased) go bad after a few days. But if you plan on eating it right away this is a total score!

The guy who runs the place must be a cool guy as the sign is a caricature of him riding a watermelon shaped like an airplane while he is smoking a pipe. A little humor with your produce is probably the best idea.

So I recently had an interaction with Stanley. The guy is a total hustler (in the funny sense). He was out there selling pineapples with a “lifetime guarantee”. Make sure you use what you buy at a good price really soon as most of that stuff is going to go bad soon. I bought one flat (or 9 containers) of strawberries for $ 1.¬†
