The Butcher’s Tap – Beer and cheese curds

Beer lovers, rejoice. The Butcher’s Tap, which was originally a butcher’s shop, will be your new favorite bar and restaurant in Chicago.

The Butcher’s Tap has over 60 different beers on tap and another 40 bottled beers. That’s approximately 100 different beers to try! Every time I come here, I get to try a new beer because the selection is so expansive. Most recently, I tried a basil mint cider from a small Seattle brewery. Not something I’d typically order.

Even this fall since it’s been so warm, I always try to snag a seat on the patio and camp out here with friends for the evening. For the upcoming winter days, there’s a huge bar on the inside that stretches across the entire building with plenty of TVs to watch sports games.

In addition to the sprawling beer selection, the food is pretty good too. I personally love the cheese curds as it’s the perfect consistency of gooey goodness on the inside and fried dough on the outside.

Also, the patio is dog friendly! Last time I was here, I made friends with the cutest little pug named Wrigley. Nothing better than that.
