There are two things in Chicago that make my taste buds do the happy dance. Mexican and brunch. When you combine the two of these culinary forces it is a delight on North Clark Street between Ravenswood and Uptown. Tiztal Café is one of my all-time favorite brunch spots on the weekend.

They offer fantastic fresh juices, smoothies and shakes. I am ALL IN when it comes to ordering the oatmeal shake! Yummo is all I have to say about that:)  From their omelets to their crepes, everything I have had here is cooked superbly. If whatever you order comes with their amazing breakfast potatoes, watch out because they are utterly addictive. And, if you want to get the best thing on the menu — I say go for the Chilaquiles! Still some of the best I’ve ever had.

This restaurant is cozy and sometimes there can be a short wait, but I’ve never waited more than 15 minutes with a smaller group.  There’s also an amazing hidden patio in the back, so if weather permits ask if the patio’s open, and meander down the alleyway to their hidden garden oasis.
