During the pandemic, some restaurants closed down. Most of them have had hardships. This seems to be the rule that applies to usual restaurants, but the Gastro team is quite unusual. They opened 2 new locations during the pandemic and Veranda is one of them!
Veranda can quickly become your favourite place in the city for brunch, lunch and dinner, as it has for me. Their staff is very helpful and friendly. They are located in the city’s very center next to the Library, next to the Museum and close to the city’s central parks.
They have a wide selection of tasty food. Their most notable are the wood oven focaccia’s (similar to small pizzas) which they prepare on the spot in under 6 minutes. The place is vegan friendly. It is also friendly to people with i.e. gluten allergy and to people that don’t drink alcohol. They have a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. If you want to try something exquisite, go for the non-alcoholic Bloody Mary.
On weekend nights they have good music and sometimes even live music. It is best to make a reservation in advance for dinner. For lunch, it is usually easy to find a table.
