Time goes by… when I discovered the area around the small harbor with adjacent factory buildings in Mülheim a couple of years ago, I absolutely fell in love with the area: red brick ruins, a lot of street art and a magnificent view on the harbor basin and the cathedral.
Since then, things have changed and the former place “Boulehalle” now called Anker 7 has become a gourmet place. The project of star chef Julia Komp seems to be very ambitious. I took a look through the windows into the old hall and I was very relieved that although it was redesigned by an interior designer, it was done with respect for the atmosphere of the place.
Due to the lockdown, the Anker 7 crew is now offering fancy but still affordable to-go snacks and drinks on weekends. So I am really glad that the place remains a great destination for a Sunday stroll through the Rhine Park. Let’s hope that the cable car will start operating again soon to make the journey to the right side of the Rhine a true highlight.
