Time goes by… when I discovered the area around the small harbor with adjacent factory buildings in Mülheim a couple of years ago, I absolutely fell in love with the area: red brick ruins, a lot of street art and a magnificent view on harbor basin and the cathedral.
Since then, things have changed and the former place “Boulehalle” now called Anker 7 has become a gourmet place. The project of star chef Julia Komp seems to be very ambitious. I took a look through the windows into the old hall and I was very relieved that although the old hall was redesigned by an interior designer, it was done with respect for the atmosphere of the place.
Due to the lockdown, the Anker 7 crew is now offering fancy but still affordable to-go snacks and drinks on weekends. So I am really glad that the place remains a great destination for a Sunday stroll through the Rhine Park. Let’s hope that the cable car will start operating again soon to make the journey to the right side of the Rhine a true highlight.
