o.k.-international was founded as o.k.-Versand by Lukas Plum in 1997. In 1998, the owner opened a first store in Cologne and, in 2001, a second one in Berlin. At o.k.-international, you will find objects from everyday life that Lukas Plum found abroad (e.g. in Cambodia, Turkmenistan or Togo). For instance, I bought an owl-shaped buffer for textile last time I went there (not quite sure where it came from, I should have asked).
When I go to o.k.-international, I feel like I’m going back to my childhood as I can find many toys I used to play with at my grandparent’s house in the Belgian province of Hainaut during the nineties. Which is quite hard to explain given that all items from o.k.-international are originally produced for their local market, and none of these markets seem to be located in central Europe – the mystery continues…
Check the o.k.-international website, where you can shop online and be informed about their last arrivals (e.g. enamel from Turkey or Ukraine).
