Signor Verde is called a ‘milkfree’ café, but it is more than that.
Eric, the owner, also offers a variety of delicious cold and warm food: baguettes, soups, salads, burgers and other weekly changing offers, in addition to everything that a café normally has in their showcase: yummy cakes, muffins and cupcakes and in summertime ice cream. And the coffee is fair trade.
And… everything is vegan, lactose-free and some cakes are even gluten-free!
Sounds dry and boring ? Not at all – everything at Signor Verde is just tasty.
And there is a special day: only on Thursday (German : Donnerstag) they serve their famous doner kebab (German : Döner). Donnerstag + Döner ? Dönerstag!!
The Signor Verde Döner is sensational and I would almost bet you can’t taste the difference from one with meat… they also sell it for takeaway and you can enjoy it in the nearby park. But Signor Verde also has some seats outside. The inside is also comfortable: the owner has kept the charm of the old café it used to be and the atmosphere is relaxed.
It is close to Barbarossa Place and opposite the South Station. The opening hours sometimes change at short notice: please check facebook.
And here is why I just love to go there: I am not 100% vegetarian or vegan but if you have a friend who only eats vegan, you can have a good time together there and yet you will also always find something for your taste at Signor Verde.
