Café Munk is Indian with a twist, so everyone can enjoy this place. The acoustics are not very good, but if you get a corner table, it doesn’t matter. Off the busy street, close by Nørreport station, this little place, in my eyes, has got it right. There’s a selection of Indian dishes (made from family recipes, if you believe the menu) and a selection of slightly untraditional burgers.
The menu is luckily short, which normally translates into "they know what they are doing".
The best thing about Café Munk is that they believe in fresh groceries and a choice with every meal - here the waiter doesn’t give you the option of “medium or well-done”. They ask “vegetarian or vegan”.
I absolutely love this trend of vegetarian restaurants not being all green and stereotypical. Here meat-eater and vegans can enjoy a meal together in a cozy environment with brightly colored pictures on the wall that just makes you want to go to India this second.
They have brunch as well, but I haven’t tried it yet. If you do, let me know!
