Kihoskh is a fun alternative to shopping for your immediate necessities. Imagine the general idea of a convenient store, where you buy cigarettes, snacks and beverages. Then multiply quality, inventory and feeling by a thousand!
The way people use this kiosk is really what I think is interesting here. It’s a place that puts a new standard to a very conservative phenomenon that is the kiosk, because it’s suddenly become a meeting point. A lot of locals go here when the weather allows for sitting outside – not a big mystery since Kihoskh is situated on a sunny corner of the buzzing Sønder Boulevard in Vesterbro. And the ever-so-busy Vesterbro clientèle can make good use of this kind of hang-out as you sit down for only a short while with a beer. Some nights they have DJs playing outside, and I’ve once been to a release reception of a new line of beers.
As this is a kiosk, it’s self-service. You go inside and buy your preferred snacks, beverages or magazine for you to enjoy outside or on the go. And oh, now here’s the good part: The shelves of the kiosk are stuffed with imported magazines of all types, cartoons, exotic beers from microbreweries from all around the globe and mouthwatering snacks, which primarily consists of organic bread and pastries from the sister-store to Kihoskh, BRØD (a popular bakery on Enghave Plads nearby). You can even buy records and art pieces here… No wonder they call it “the hipster-kiosk”.
