Maybe you didn’t travel to Copenhagen to have Taiwanese baos, but here I must challenge you – I believe this is exactly what you should have when you are here.
Bao is a very traditional dish from Taiwan. It is a steamed bun filled with meat and vegetables. Even though I must admit I have never been to Taiwan, I cannot believe they make this dish much better than Maobao does. The center of the food is this bao, which they offer filled with either pulled pork, fish, Korean fried chicken or fried tofu. Besides the bao, they also serve all kinds of sides from all over Asia. My personal favorite is the zucchini salad dressed with a ginger pesto and a very traditional Danish cheese called Havgus.
MAOBAO also serves some really good drinks and there is often live music. It’s a great place to have dinner and a couple of drinks with your good friends!
The location actually hosts another restaurant during the day called Sidecar. Sidecar has won many prizes for the phenomenal brunch and that is a good reason why you should also visit.
