I simply love this place! It’s that simple!
It all started with Mother.dk at the old Meat Pack District (used to be a spot as well). Copenhagen was getting tired of worthless, crappy pizzas and then Mother came to town and created the Italian pizzas we all desire (gotta love those Italians).
It’s still a good place – too crowded for my taste, but still awesome.
As many other popular restaurants, Mother also had the urge to develop. But they didn’t open up another “pizzeria”. No, they gave birth to a wine shop instead.
There are loads of nice wine bars in Copenhagen, but this one left me with something special. I was just walking by, recognized the brand, and decided to have a look inside.
You will get the concept real quick: you go inside and you are welcomed by the host. You go to the tasting table and you are instantly overwhelmed by their generosity. You taste a few glasses with patience while listening to all the stories behind them. You then choose your favorite glass of liquid grapes and take a seat somewhere in the cosy establishment, on one of the three floors.
From here on, it’s all about drinking great wines, talking, making gestures and laughing like the Italians do best.
My favorite part… The Amazing Aperitivo on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays. The girls cook homemade Italian recipes on the top floor. You can eat as much as you like, while sweetening your life with good wine. Amazing!
