You can’t really visit Copenhagen during the summer without taking a swim in the canal. It might sound a bit nasty or like the water is not clean, but Copenhagen’s swim culture is not like most cities. During the last few years, new places to take a swim have popped up all over the city – from Sandkaj in Nordhavn all the way down to Sluseholmen in the south. Along the canal, on both sides, swimming platforms have been installed.
My personal favorite is probably Islands brygge or Kalvebod brygge. The concept that you can take a swim anywhere means that you can combine a swim in the seawater and afterwards a good meal in a famous restaurant that can be only a 5-minute walk away!
And do I have to remind you you can buy cold drinks everywhere?! Some of the places even have saunas, which definitely increases the attraction of a swim during the winter.
