There are two big food halls located at the big square close to the metro station Nørreport. Here it’s always busy! If you visit Torvehallerne during the weekends, there will be a lot of people. But there is a good reason why. They offer a big selection of cheese, wine, and all kinds of charcuteries but also bread, bakeries and coffee. There are also several restaurants and an excellent place to try the Danish smørrebrød.
Between the two halls, there is a small market selling flowers and vegetables. Here you can just walk around for hours, try some olives, have a glass of prosecco or a cup of coffee in the sun and plan the rest of your weekend in Copenhagen. If you’re renting an apartment where it’s possible to cook, there is a good slaughter and a good fish market in the halls.
