Wasteland is a classic vintage store in the heart of Copenhagen’s old, rather distasteful district “Pisserenden” (Danish slang meaning some form of urine gutter…), which is now buzzing with alternative shops, charming hangouts and creative people. With an S&M shop across the street from this gem, I guess the mood is set. But don’t be shy…

The name Wasteland must be some kind of ironic take on the fact that the store is literally packed with stuff! In Wasteland you don’t actually find one of a kind pieces, you merely choose from a wide selection of the same styles. Old college jerseys, Levi’s 501s, flannel shirts in every color of the rainbow. I especially feel weirdly drawn to the different football cheerleader uniforms hanging side by side on the beams under the ceiling – maybe the “cheerleader effect” is a real thing?

It’s inspiring and nostalgic, and I’d bet you’re not walking out the door without having bought some quirky or downright useless item you somehow find will make your life more fun.
