The Camden Exchange is situated in the middle of Dublin’s “Camden mile” – a stretch of Camden Street filled with bars and pubs. To me, that part of town is one of the best going-out destinations, it’s definitely not as touristy as Temple bar and there are lots of traditional pubs as well but if you’re in for a more trendy vibe, Camden Exchange is the place to go.
The building where the bar resides currently, lived through a few different occupants: a bank, a watchmaker’s studio, the set for an Irish TV show, and now is part of Dublin’s ever-changing bar scene. The Camden Exchange is good for a quick bite (the menu is oriented at street food from all over the world), home-made spirit infusions, and they have a huge screen for football too!
I love the steampunk look of the place—copper pipes everywhere! And they even have a truck cabin decoration inside, which gives a unique look to the place. There are both comfy sofas and bar stools, so I think it’s good for a date as well as a friends meet-up. I have nothing but compliments on the food and drinks, and overall the Camden Exchange is definitely on my top-5 bars in Dublin.
