“The Camden mile” is the name for a stretch of Camden Street filled with bars and pubs. It might rival Baggot street for the ultimate Dublin night-out destination. I personally do prefer Camden; I just have this soft spot in my heart for it. There are lots of good places along the road to write about, but the Camden Exchange is one of my favourites.
The bar started as a modern-day street food haven, but with craft beers and homemade liquors. Over the last year or so, the concept might have changed slightly; their food menu definitely changed, but the vibe is definitely still the same. It’s also becoming increasingly popular and it’s hard to get in without a reservation, especially on weekend nights. But if you start earlier, you’ll be fine.
I love the steampunk look of the place—copper pipes everywhere! And they even have a truck cabin decoration inside, which gives a unique look to the place. There are both comfy sofas and bar stools, so I think it’s good for a date as well as a friends meet-up. I have nothing but compliments on the food and drinks, and overall the Camden Exchange is definitely on my top-5 bars in Dublin.
