I like this pub because I can meet with a group of friends and be sure that we will have a table, even if it is busy, because the pub is huge and has lots of tables. The music is not loud at all, which makes it a great place to have a conversation.
J.W. Sweetman has their own brewed beers, about 5-6 different kinds depending on the season, and offers a taste of all of them in 1/3 pint glasses for 14€ – great for anyone who likes trying new drinks like me. It is a pity I don’t like beer, I’d be happy if they had the same for ciders!
They would sometimes host events like quizzes.
This pub is right next to O’Connell Bridge, near all the bus routes, a perfect location.
Prices are the usual for Dublin City Centre, about 6€ a pint/bottle.
I love the atmosphere in this pub, they have candles on many tables, which help with lighting and even heating in winter.
Pro-tip: In winter go to the top floor to be in the warmest spot, all the candle’s heat ends up there, it is worth the effort 😉
