LED Walking Girl Dublin

LED Walking Girl – Cool moving art

Nobody will stop this girl, she walks all day and night in front of the Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane without taking a break!

I really like it because it is futuristic and it uses technology together with art to create something very impressive, a simple outline girl painting which comes to life and walks continuously on a loop.

I was very impressed when I saw it in 2016, mainly when I saw it was from 2006!

The piece is called “Suzanne Walking in Leather Skirt, 2006” and is one of the many pieces of art from Julian Opie, who has lots of drawings in a similar style with black outlines and some colors, which sometimes are transformed into moving characters on animated LED screens, like Suzanne Walking in Leather Skirt and some other interesting ones you will be able to find on YouTube.

Admission to the Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane is free (Tue to Thu 09:45 – 18:00, Fri 09:45 – 17:00, Sat 10:00 – 17:00, Sun 11:00 – 17:00).

Visiting the Gallery is one of the best plans for a rainy day 😉

I suggest you visit the gallery as well as have a walk through the Garden of Remembrance which is also in front of it.
