Lime Tree Cafe – My local kitchen

Another great spot right on my doorstep in the neighbourhood of Kilmainham. Located across from the hordes of tour buses which deposit visitors outside Kilmainham Goal it’s not just the location that draws people in. Tourists might pop in just for a quick coffee break but they will be pleasantly surprised by what we locals have known for a while now. Yes the coffee is great but so too is the range of freshly made sandwiches, soups and cakes all served up by some of the friendliest staff in town.

It sounds a little clichéd but the feeling in Lime Tree is so local that you could almost be in a friend’s kitchen. The food and drinks are so good you really feel like you have had a satisfying, proper lunch. And as with all good cafes the owner of Lime Tree makes sure to use only the best produce. I even once asked where they sourced their olive oil used on their salads it was that good. Round it off with a second coffee and one of their mini chocolate tarts and you will be good to go for the rest of the day.

If you find yourself here before lunchtime then they also do a fantastic breakfast. Lime Tree is a really great local spot so if in the neighbourhood make sure you drop in.
