One of my favourite things about living in the Leith area of Edinburgh is the sense of community and creativity within it – something very hard to find in a capital city. The Creative Showroom on Leith Walk represents this entirely: a gallery-cum-shop dedicated solely to items and works of art handmade in Leith itself, the shop offers a range of cutesy homeware products. From candles and notebooks to makeup bags and jewellery, I’ve spent hours browsing in the Showroom, and have never managed to walk away without buying something.
As one of the “edgier” parts of Edinburgh, Leith’s artists are inventive and unique – something that reflects in the range of products sold in this store. The staff are always friendly and happy to help, suggesting you items and chatting to you as you’re at the till. If you’re ever stuck for gift ideas, The Creative Showroom is worth the 10-minute bus journey out of the city centre!
