So you are in Florence in December and you’re looking for some place with a Christmas feeling. Well, have a walk in via Tornabuoni, under its wonderful lights and have a look at its shops’ decorations. If you are rich you can afford to buy something in one of those shops! But if you aren’t so rich, like me, look for some temporary market in a square, a garden or a “palazzo”.
These are the one I’ve chosen:
The charity market in the Hotel Four Seasons di Firenze’ garden. It’s an exclusive hotel and it is usually closed to the public, so don’t miss the chance to visit its amazing garden with fountains and statues. In this temporary market, there are luxury firms and items (like Ginori’s dishes) that you can buy on sale.
15 December 10:00 – 16:00
The Heidelberger Weihnachtsmarkt in Piazza Santa Croce, the most popular market in Florence. Drink a “vin brulè” and have a look at its North-European handcrafts.
Until 22 December 10:00 – 22:00
The charity market Nataleperfile at Palazzo Corsini (where the pointer’s located). This is one of my favorites — did I mention the fountain inside? You can find really high-quality items donated by some Tuscan firms.
6-7 December 10:00 – 19:00
You can also plan a visit to my favorite square, Piazza Santissima Annunziata. In its market, you can find 0km products and rural handicrafts — products with a Tuscan flavour! The square is breathtaking, but if you need more beauty, have a coffee at the Caffè del Verone and enjoy the view.
