Is there a specific reason why a very tiny bakery shop is still running, since 1909, when all the small local food shops are not in business anymore? The answer is “yes” and I could describe it but I’d have to wear a bib because it makes me drool…bomboloni, small pizzas, all kinds of bread and patisserie…and my favourite…the schiacciatina rucola and stracchino!
The Becagli bakery produces all their own products, with an incredibly good taste. It is a real “hole in the wall” and during peak hours you will see people waiting along the street. For the same reason there is no space available to sit or to stand while eating. Unmissable at 16:00 is when they take the “bomboloni” out of the oven, these are some sweet fried masterpieces.
Prices are not like in a supermarket but when you have tried some of those products you will not regret the small difference that is not in your pocket anymore.
