Entering the restaurant Fratelli Briganti is like a jump back to the seventies – the main room looks like it hasn’t changed since they opened. This could give you the impression of carelessness, but I think that this is the way they like to run this place and… never change a winning team.
The main reason I come all the way to this neighborhood is their pasta al pomodoro… perfectly cooked (al dente) with an incredible sauce made from fresh tomatoes and in very generous portions. If you still have space in your stomach, I suggest you order the fried chicken… yummy! Even the pizza is pretty good. Prices are very reasonable and you will be happy to have passed 15 minutes on the tram to reach it.
There isn’t a lot to visit around the restaurant, but if you have the will to walk for about half an hour, you can reach one of the nicest hills in Florence with a great view and even visit a very nice museum, the Stibbert Museum.
