The stereotype of the Italian is linked to a spaghetti dish. You will find it almost in every Florentine restaurant, but when I want it flawless, made according to the most simple recipe, only with fresh tomatoes and garlic, I do not have any doubt of where to go. The restaurant Fratelli Briganti is located out of the center so you need transportation to go there but, when you’re sitting in front of their spaghetti dish you will not regret the journey.
The ambience comes directly from the 70s and I do not think that will change soon. Sometimes I hate the pizza there and even that was still excellent, baked in a wood oven, but really, the spaghetti with fresh tomatoes is unbeatable. There is also a nice outdoor patio but, if you are like me and you like a jump into the past, I suggest you sit indoors.
Reservations are strongly suggested on weekend nights.
