Tramare is an artisan studio in the center of Florence, between the University of Florence and Teatro della Pergola. The heart of this studio are two girls, Francesca and Lucia, who create wonderful objects by working the yarns. It’s a two-floor studio with a loom in the window with which Lucia works to create scarves or bags, while Francesca makes her lamps and jewelry like earrings and necklaces.
They started their business in the end of ’17, and I’m happy for them and for Florence too, given that artisans are disappearing from the city. It’s a perfect place to buy an elegant handmade present and it isn’t expensive at all! My favorites objects are: Lucia’s big and soft scarves and Francesca’s lamps made of yarn. You can also buy a little object like a purse or a bookmark. I hope these two brave girls will have the luck they deserve because what they create is unique and well made.
