Fast food in Germany normally means Burger or Kebab (Döner).
As I am a big fan of Greece, its culture, islands and of course the Greek cuisine, I was so glad about this newly opened spot in Frankfurt’s city center. Of course it’s still a fast food place thus there is no big reinvention of Greek dishes or a fancy presentation, but still: after a night out in Frankfurt’s bars and clubs, “Aplo” is a refreshing alternative for spontaneous binge eating.
My favorite is a classic: the delicious Pita sandwich with gyros and garlic sauce, a lot bigger than in Greece so one could already be enough.
The service is of course very friendly, the wine comes from Crete and the prices are more than fair for a city center spot. Around Aplo there are many nightclubs, bars and nice neighborhoods for a city walk, which makes this place a perfect spot for a short break.
And for all Greek insiders: they have even “bougatsa” for breakfast; don’t google it, try it!
