Three years went by before I found out about Casablanca, even though I was living just around the corner. I have passed by its entrance countless times on my way to other popular spots such as the Bockenheimer Weinkontor and still I missed it. Casablanca is a hidden gem, facing an inner courtyard, so trust the map and keep an eye out for the signs.

Casablanca is a queer place, the character of which changes from one occasion to the next. It is a beer garden from 17:00 where you can sit with some friends sipping chilled beer and nibbling on middle-eastern influenced snacks. Casablanca is a bar where you can gather your girlfriends for some cocktails. Casablanca is a restaurant where you can have a meal to go with your drinks long after others restaurants have stopped serving and go home with a full belly and a warm heart.

Sometimes it will be a quiet evening with background music, sometimes there’ll be live music, sometimes a thematic buffet! You never know what you are going to find.

Casablanca also has a beautiful terrace, perfect for Summer or dry Autumn evenings, both relaxed and lively. I enjoy sitting outside chatting with a friend and simply enjoying the quiet surroundings – you would never know how much is passing by outside.

Check their Facebook page to be up-to-date on their events and join the crowd for a treat!
