As night clubs remain in a very difficult situation due to the pandemic, and dancing is still not possible the way we were used to, the very creative team of Gibson Club on Frankfurt’s main shopping highstreet Zeil, saw their chance when a former huge building on Opernplatz was torn down in spring this year.
Within weeks, they created a downtown beach club with a great view on Frankfurt’s Skyline within plenty of trees surrounding the area. You can order your drinks from two bars (the one in the front is more busy as you can only get your cocktails there), a Mexican restaurant and a sandwich shop.
To the side of the walkways, the floor is filled with fine sand, and in the back area of the beach club, you can enjoy the atmosphere in the club on large daybeds. You can easily forget that you are actually in downtown Frankfurt.
The current pandemic regulations apply and everyone needs to register with the “Luca-App”, which causes quite some waiting time at the entrance, especially if you are entering after 7 pm. If you just want to have a look, use the free entry times before 6 pm.
The location has been crazily busy during summer and the service staff has often been overwhelmed by the demand (they were always very friendly though), but I would still recommend a visit on a sunny fall day (check their Facebook Story before visiting) before they will have to close down sometime in the fall.
