If you want to meet me, head to Gresso on Saturdays around 15:00: I’m the one sitting by the window on the cosy cushions, drinking one of the best Italian coffees in town and eating a lovely home-made sandwich or cake.
Since 2016, Gresso has been around the neighbourhood as one of the first day-bars and cafés. On the weekends, when people go downtown for some mad shopping, finding a calm and cosy café or bar can be challenging. Take a 10-minute stroll from the main street Zeil towards the north until you reach Gresso. Given the little distanced location from downtown, it’s never too crowded, thereby making it very comfortable and enjoyable.
I’d highly recommend Gresso for a calm afternoon, reading your newspaper in peace or watching people and the cars pass by on the main street. Sometimes they experiment with some new menu items, like smoothies, so be prepared to get some fresh and free surprises.
