The first memories of my visit at “Schöneberger” included an elk, wood and the smell of tarte flambée (Canada, anyone?) – so be prepared for the same experience: when you enter through the main door, a massive smiling elk head looks at you from the wall. I was impressed by the elk, but also by the wooden floor, bar and the many wooden tables and chairs: maybe it’s only me, but wood makes me feel very comfortable. Once the waiter passed me by with a hot tarte flambée and our local apple cider, I was hooked by this place.
While they offer many more items on the menu, their many French – but also regionally adapted – tarte flambées are the best. Once you order drinks (if you don’t like apple cider, choose some wine: it’s always served in beautifully large glasses), take a minute to listen beyond the many voices in this spacious place – can you hear the groovy R&B and Soul tunes?
