Cinétransat might be over this year but there is a smaller, more intimate openair cinema with a cause happening at Bains des Paquis these next few days. Organized by Helvetas (an independent Swiss development organization), alternative open-air Cinéma Sud screens a very diverse selection of films you will not find in your blockbuster theatre. The cool thing is that this whole experience is powered based on solar energy! The entry is free and what is actually really nice is to go for a little swim before or after the movie.
This year’s programme includes movies from Kenya, Palestine, Mexico, The Philippines, Burkina Faso and Kirghistan.
21.8: SUPA MODO (Kenya 2018) en AVANT-PREMIERE SUISSE!
22.8: Blanka (Philippines 2015)
23.8: La Jaula de Oro – The Golden Dream (Mexique 2013)
24.8: Wajib the Film واجب (Palestine 2017)
25.8: Wallay the film (Burkina Faso 2017)
26.8: Centaur (Kirghizistan 2017)
Bring your picnic, a blanket and probably a few tissues because some of the movies will definitely make you shed a tear or two.
