“La Ville est à vous” (trad. The city is yours) is a great concept! From May to June and from end of August to October, every weekend a new district of Geneva closes its streets to become a friendly trunk sale handled by the inhabitants. It is just the best way to have fun and discover a quarter alive as never before, crowded with people just happy to be there and to sell their old stuff!
A good and chill mood floods each district for two days every year with an easy recipe: music, world food, activities for children, nice and cheap treasures! No doubt you will find that exact vintage piece of clothing or decorative item you have always dreamed of! And be sure that if you don’t know what you are looking for, a child will be pleased to sell you an old book or a tasty homemade marmalade!
Supported by Geneva City, these events are a real and extraordinary way to show that the inhabitants are their city. I particularly recommend the districts of Saint-Jean and les Paquis for the vibrant atmosphere.
