I have never been to Les Enfants Terribles with more than two people at once. Not for lack of space at the venue mind you, but much like a secret, I like to share it with only one or two people at a time.
Before I went there with my best friend, I had never heard of the place and would not have stopped to take a second look if I had walked right by it. Nestled in the heart of the Plainpalais neighbourhood, this stylish oasis made me completely forget where I was.
Les Enfants Terribles is a special place. An interior design boutique, an organic bar/café, a workshop, a winery, and a hair salon, it is also used for fashion shows and concerts. Given the opening hours (it closes at 21:00 on weekdays and 18:00 on Saturday) it is better suited for an afternoon coffee break, a quiet business meeting or a Saturday brunch. Prices are a bit steep, but you are paying for the experience and the chance to take a deep breath and relax for a bit. Everything inside is eye candy, and the food and drinks are delicious ; homemade pastries, quiches, cakes and burgers, as well as organic, local fruit juices and wines.
I like to go there with a close friend or someone I want to get to know better, always hoping when I leave, that they will in turn come back and show it to someone they find special.
