Mango Lounge is the new place to be for the summer. It is a direct and obvious competitor to Les Voiles. The concept is quite similar: a beautiful summer terrace, half bar – half open-air night club filled with beautiful people sipping expensive cocktails in a delightful setting. Les Voiles has the best Sunset view by the Lake, no doubt about that, but Mango Lounge has an attractive river view over L’Arve. It has a more upscale countryside vibe, whereas Les Voiles is a mini-Ibiza. It is quite pleasant to sip a cold glass of Rosé (9CHF, the cheapest item on their menu) while comfortably sitting in their plush couch. You can hear L’Arve roaring; it’s relaxing.
I rode my bike to Mango Lounge as it is quite in the middle of nowhere and parking can be quite challenging. They have a paid parking (10 CHF), which seems a bit of a rip-off. However, bus 8 will take you there. The road by bike is really enjoyable, there is a good bike path and you feel that you are on vacations in the countryside of Southern France. Plus, riding your bike there will make you feel less guilty when you voraciously devour their pizzette (2 mini-pizza for 25 CHF).
We came for one drink just to discover the place and we ended up spending the entire evening — we had such a good time. I highly recommend booking a table 2 or 3 days in advance to avoid standing awkwardly by the bar all night.
