Nothing beats a good book on a sunny afternoon. One of my favorite places to enjoy some me-time is a spot called 'Appelbrugparkje'. It's a tiny park right in the center of Ghent and worshiped by its residents.
I love to cosy up on the grass to devour some literature or treat myself with a chilly playlist. When with friends I grab some drinks from the store to enjoy the splendid view of the Great Butchers’ Hall from this green spot, alongside the Lys river. From the park there is a glass fibre bridge that leads directly to the Old Fisher Market. As the Tourist Office is located in the same building, I often seize the opportunity to pass and grab some new city walks, city maps or information about cultural festivities. If not, I go home via the 'Jan Breydelstraat', facing the park. If you ask me, that's one of the city's cosiest streets and also a perfect end of the day.
