A couple of years ago, the term “freakshake” came onto the market: the very calorie-dense, almost a meal on its own, version of milkshakes and coffees. At caffè Rosario, you can try a toned-down version of this freakshake. They have a gigantic assortment of warm and cold drinks to choose from: beetroot lattes, Kinder Bueno hot chocolates, Malteser coffee, just to name a few.
If you don’t get your sugar rush from their drinks alone, you can accompany the drink with a slice of cake or a muffin. Don’t worry if you are not a massive fan of sugar, they also have a regular drink and lunch menu with Italian-inspired dishes such as focaccia. One of the owners, Fabio, is Italian so you can be sure that you’re in for a treat.
Caffè Rosario is also located on a prime spot, when the weather is nice you can sit outside and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city center all whilst looking at the Sint-Niklaas church and Sint-Baafs Cathedral.
For the summer they came up with a new concept: ice cream croissants, the perfect mix of pastry and ice cream on a hot summer day.
