Edgar Kaasbar opened just in September 2017 and is the first cheese restaurant in Ghent. If you would die without cheese like me, read further. If not, read further anyway.
Why didn’t someone come up with this earlier?! I often organise a cheese and wine evening with my friends but we never came up with the idea of having a restaurant or bar that only serves cheese. So with a group of four, we headed to this ‘bar’ as they like to call it to try a cheese board.
What you get is not a classic cheese board. You can choose between five different menus, and every menu is based on the season so it changes very often. Obviously there are selected beers and wines for every cheese as well. The concept is all about the joy of sharing food and trying different things. They make appetizers and a few desserts as well.
The interior is a bit simple and boring, but the food was great and fresh! As a cheese lover I can only recommend it. The fact that they change the menu improves the experience.
