Who does not like a Sunday brunch? In most cities it has been popular for a long time. Yet Ghent seems quite slow in adopting the phenomenon. When I was still living in Vienna we went brunching on a regular basis. So, when I moved back to Ghent I kind of missed it.
Now it’s possible and not just at an ordinary place, but inside the foyer of a beautiful theater. Some people might hesitate going inside as it seems quite posh, but it’s well worth a try.
On a sunny day you might be able to conquer a spot on the balcony overlooking the Saint Bavo square, from here you have an astonishing view on both the belfry and the cathedral. The brunch is offered in buffet-style and offers a broad variety with fresh ingredients. From soup to chocolate mousse, from croissants to salads.
When not serving brunch, this place is a normal restaurant offering high quality food at reasonable prices. For sure one of my favourite restaurants in town!
