There is an abundance of coffee bars in Ghent, the one better than the other, but above them all stands ‘Het Moment’. The coffees are big and warm, the location is extremely beautiful and the owner is always in the best mood. No matter if you are with friends, mother, father, boyfriend, girlfriend, take them to this spot and they will thank you for it.
You can start the day there with some type of breakfast but do make sure to test one of their homemade juices. Be warned: after the first sip you’ll immediately want more. If you’re out shopping and want to take a break for a well-deserved pitstop, they’ve also got your back. Het Moment offers a wide range of coffees (with non-dairy milk if preferred) and tea, to accompany your drink they have a daily-changing offer of freshly baked cakes. My favourite is the cheesecake with red berries – the perfect balance between sweet and tart.
If you’re done shopping for the day and are ready for the apero, you are at the right address again. They serve beers, wine or champagne if you are feeling fancy and small bites to fulfill every craving.
I only have positive words for this bar. Trust me on this one and just go.
