The ever hip and trendy Nederkouter has since 19th July of 2019 a new addition: Komparto. It is owned by Karel De Clerq who has another restaurant in Ghent called Karreaux. From the outside, it might look very fancy and quite pricy, but in reality you can get a few tasty dishes within a ‘normal’ budget. All dishes (except for the desserts) are made for sharing. The more the merrier is a famous saying that is certainly applicable at Komparto. The bigger your company, the more dishes you can try.
If your party is limited, I’d certainly suggest you try the salmon sashimi and burrata with tomatoes/fresh pesto as a starter and the squid, entrecôte and pasta with wild mushrooms as a main dish. If there is room in your tummy left, go for the moelleux!
Komparto also has a wide range of (home-made) cocktails and mocktails. Their Aperol Spritz with a twist is really refreshing on a hot summer day and their “gin” Nona is perfect for people that still need to drive after lunch/dinner since it has no alcohol.
