Ghent has a lot of coffee shops, but more and more of them are trying to offer something extra. Like STEK for example. At STEK you can have breakfast, lunch and… plants.
A new concept is difficult to find nowadays. Besides pictureworthy food, there are houseplants and art pieces on the menu as well. Not just any regular plants either, but exotic plants that you won’t find anywhere else here in Belgium. Everything hanging on the wall is for sale.
The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The plants are a bit more expensive, but this is not Ikea after all. As a tourist, it is a bit difficult to take a plant with you, but you can come just for the food and enjoy the jungle.
If the weather allows it, there is also a nice terrace.
Nederkouter is a street in the center of Ghent with a lot of choices to eat. It’s a booming business. Every time I go there, I get choice stress!
