Cafe Sono can be found underneath the famous & bustling Glasgow Central Station bridge on Argyle Street. They vast a great wee menu ranging from typical Scottish delights to Middle Eastern and Mediterranean style dining.
I have been popping in and out of Cafe Sono for years. It is my go-to place for a brilliant Scottish fry up or a Middle Eastern style kebab and have a lovely mezzanine you can sit upon as you watch costumes come and go.
Another particular favourite thing about Cafe Sono is the location underneath Central Station as well as above Platform 16 & 17 of the very same station. When a train arrives or departs Glasgow Central station, you can feel every bit of its movement rumbling through the cafe’s foundations. That’s when you know you are in the very centre of the city.
If you are only looking for a quick tea or coffee, there is a single seat perched outside so you can see the comings and goings of the hundreds of people who work their way along this street in Glasgow.
