I discovered Cossachock thanks to my friend Linda (the one who took this picture). This is now one of my favourite spot for a snack and a drink in proper Eastern European style.
I love the decor which is quirky and has that feel-at-home vibe with colourful paintings and Russian shawls covering the ceiling.
My friend is from Latvia so I believe her when she says the food is authentic! The food choices are endless, however my favourite go-to are the potato pancakes (featured in the photo) and the Cossachock Nibbles. Those are slices of fried rye bread which are usually served in East Europe with a beer during summer as a snack.
The cafe is situated near plenty of bars and art galleries, which make this the perfect spot for a break while wandering around the city centre.
Top tip: Make sure to save room for one of their amazing homemade slices of honey cake! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed – it’s one of the reasons why I keep going back.
