Nick’s Bar and Grill is very much an area favourite in Hyndland, Glasgow, as even when one has never explicitly been to it, it’s often heard of. That said, it is rather hard to miss, situated on Hyndland road and equipped with a neon red sign above the entrance. This particular pub is also a talking point of Hyndland because of the little cat named Monty who lives nearby. He will appear every so often near the tables, enjoying the sunshine or perching on the barrels outside.
This lovely little bar has two floors & is well known for its wide range of cocktails on offer. The food is pleasant and of good quality, and has a very familiar, nostalgic sense of home, which is enhanced by the old-school atmosphere of the bar.
My family and I would usually try to go during the week, as it is sometimes a bit harder to get a table during the weekends, so Thursday was always a good day for us. They have a wide range of food there, so while I usually try ordering something different, I will definitely always be a fan of their pizza and mozzarella sticks. The price range is somewhat higher, although this is arguably due to the particular produce offered.
The cocktails are great, the atmosphere is very comforting and welcoming, the food is lovely – they also offer a children’s menu for the little ones as well and their food is definitely suited to a family dinner treat.
