If somebody asked me to describe Spitfire Espresso, I would only need two words: ‘great coffee’.
That’s it. The main reason why I think this is one of the best spots in Glasgow is the fantastic brownish brew that comes out of their magic “La Marzotto”, basically the Ferrari of coffee machines.
A good machine, however, is not the only thing that makes this coffee great. The real secret is hidden inside their unique, explosive blend: the Spitfire Gunnerbeans. To further enhance the flavour (and also to go local, which is always a good choice) the cafe has recently decided to only use milk produced by the Mossgiel Family Farm in Ayrshire.
Coffee aside, another thing they do really well at Spitfire is desserts, made daily and always displayed on the wooden counter right in front of the entrance. The cafe also has a small kitchen, which is very handy when your chef can also make a nice hearty breakfast and some extraordinary sandwiches: real lunch-savers that will surprise you with new flavours every day!
