You already know that I love my hometown and its maritime flair. The “rough” area around the harbour is called St. Pauli and maybe you know it for its famous red light district and the Reeperbahn. There used to be sailors and booze here, and you can still find the latter. This is why I prefer the smaller streets in this district, where you can find many original people and even a lot of art.
For example, check out “Lenas Wonderland”: I love vintage, swing dances and items from eras long ago. All this and a lot more you find in a very small and very new shop with an adjacent atelier – Lena’s world! If I only had more space on my walls: check out her reworked lifesavers – a little tattoo-ish, some pin-up mixed with a maritime flavour: a perfect choice for a souvenir. I also like the pictures you can buy, if you don’t want a whole Hamburg lifesaver. Or go with our typical “Astra Knolle” (the beer from around this area which is found in a particular shaped bottle). Lena made a thing of it: a St. Pauli candle.
A local business in an original Hamburg neighbourhood with such love and passion behind it?! Go, go, go!!! I guess you have no other choice than drop by and say hello on my behalf. 🙂
