I just had to have Fazer Cafe on the list. I know it’s a place that probably can be found in every travel book etc., but it’s just a must-visit place. Fazer is first of all the national chocolate brand and the cafe is just that good. 

I usually drag all of my visiting friends there for a coffee and a delicious cake. There are so many options to choose from, but I’ve noticed that I usually end up with the carrot cake. Or with ice cream, but as we are getting closer to winter, that’s less likely to happen now. 

Since it is the flagship cafe of Fazer in Helsinki, you also have a wonderful selection of Fazer chocolates available. So you can easily do your edible souvenir shopping here. The chocolate bars you can get from any regular grocery store too, but what I would buy from the cafe are the pieces of confectionery. You can mix and match as you please, which is nice. Of course there are some pre-made packages available too.

But I strongly recommend going for a cup of coffee and a piece of delicious cake and take your time enjoying it. That’s what I do.
