Like every other city probably, Helsinki is basically swamped with shabby Chinese restaurants, Thai places and a gazillion Sushi bars. I personally miss a decent Vietnamese restaurant but nonetheless I was super-excited to find something that stands out from the rest of Asian cuisine – Korean! The price-value at this place is very decent, the location central, service is nice, and the restaurant cozy.
“Korea House” serves intensely tasty dishes that are delicious. Unlike many other Asian cuisines, the food is quite hearty and heavy but not greasy or stuffing. I can particularly recommend the spicy Kimchi (pickled cabbage) hotpot with pork, that is a defining meal to warm you up and clear your throat on a chilly day. But anything else I’ve tried was just equally delicious, and with the selection in their menu and the authenticity that comes with it, Korea House is the one and only in all of Helsinki.
