Into screaming, creatures and cruelty? Night Visions, the largest genre film event in the Nordic region, makes sure that any fans of horror, fantasy, science fiction, action or cult cinema get their cravings subdued twice a year.
Even if you’re not sure if it’s your thing or not, don’t click away just yet – it isn’t mine either! I can honestly say that before Night Visions I had watched maybe two horror films in my life and still the festival ended up on my favorites list. The reason for it is that it introduces me to the most interesting and best – or in case that’s the idea: the worst – films in their genres. You can pick your poison and choose between new titles, fascinating documentaries or classics that are rarely seen in cinemas.
In the last few years, Night Visions has had such legendary guests as Lloyd Kaufman, the actor icon Udo Kier and last but not least the Pope of Trash, John Waters, who all naturally spend their nights at a prison hotel during their stay.
The festival happens twice a year; Back to Basics in April and Maximum Halloween around Halloween in October/November. Note that the screening are held in three different theaters around the city.
