Finnish – an incredibly strange and incomprehensible language. But why not trust the universal language of arts and buy a ticket to see a play at the National theater – can there be a better way to immerse yourself in the Finnish culture?
The same-day tickets to all of the National theater’s plays are sold for half price. That means you would pay something between € 15-20, or even € 10. The tickets also include entrance to the Lavaklubi. Lavaklubi is the relaxed atmospheric cellar bar of the theater.
The impressive Finnish Jugend-style building is situated right next to the railway station, opposite to the Ateneum Art Museum. Their ticket office is by the left side, in the cellar.
Shows are not usually subtitled, but check out the link included. It’s for the Brief in English section of the theater’s home page and tells – briefly, as promised – about all of the current season shows.
