Babylon is a concert venue in Istanbul, staging a great selection of performances since 1999. When it was founded back then on a corner of Taksim, where the nightlife of Istanbul used to beat, Babylon played a great role in forming a nightlife around itself. Together with that, they transformed the music scene of the city and they still carry the lead.
Today, they are located in their new home, bomontiada. It’s a historic beer factory turned into a multidisciplinary cultural hub where you can find restaurants, bars, art galleries, workshops and so on. This time, together with bomontiada collective, Babylon is leading the gentrification of Bomonti district named after the beer brand that used to be produced in that historic factory.
When there is a concert in Babylon, I suggest you come in the early evening to find a good, authentic restaurant inside or around the factory, and start drinking in the garden of bomontiada (the factory).
Keep in mind that concerts tend to start late in Babylon, like they do everywhere else. See the neon lit message (pictured) on the entrance wall.
