Last weekend, my foodie friend Cansu and I went to see a movie at the Caddebostan Cultural Center (CKM). This cultural complex, located in a quiet side street off Bağdat Avenue is a great place housing cinemas, exhibition halls, a café and a bookshop. It’s a good place to catch a movie after going for a walk along Bağdat Caddesi (‘Cadde’ for short) or the seaside. But, I digress. This article was supposed to be about pizza!
After the movie, walking around CKM to find a place to eat, we were enchanted by the smell of fresh baked pizza. Our feet took us to the source: Bafetto! With a claim to serving ‘the best pizza in town’, this casual restaurant exceeds the expectation.
Bafetto’s Caddebostan branch is a fabulous place: It’s spacious, comfortable and very cozy. They have an open kitchen where you can see the chefs make your pizza from scratch, and the staff is very kind. Not to mention the budget-friendly menu; the pizza will set you back around 20 liras. I tried the Bafetto pizza, topped with rocket, broccoli and caramelized onions. Thin base, fresh ingredients and perfect crunch! Recommended for all veggie heads out there. Alternatively, you can go for many other pizzas and salads, I’m sure you’ll be satisfied. Bafetto also serves drinks; you can try the house wine or an ice-cold beer to accompany your pizza. Buon appetito!
